At Kingston Dental our crowns at made of the highest quality, long-lasting materials of various kinds. A crown, sometimes referred to as a “cap,” is a tooth-like covering placed over a carefully prepared existing tooth. A dental crown encases the entire visible part of a tooth. So in effect it becomes the tooth’s new outer surface.
Here, as you can see by watching this mini-movie, crowns were created to correct some unhealthy and unsightly imperfections, most noticably near the gum line.
To properly care for an existing crown (or crowns) you just treat it as you would any other tooth. Use proper hygiene including brushing twice daily and flossing at least once a day.
If you think you may be a candidate for a crown (or other cosmetic procedures) please call us to schedule an appointment and consultation with one of our dentists who will recommend the optimum procedure for your circumstances. (314)487-0052
